Storage & Warehouse Storage
Storage tips:
What do you have to store? Consider what you need to store and how long you need to store it. Is this just a short-term situation while you wait for your new home to be ready? Are you not quite ready to part with some items and need time to think about it? T-N-T Moving Systems has a solution for your local storage needs.
Things to consider: What do you need to store? Storing furniture, cars, boats, or RVs may require looking at more than one facility before deciding. Some companies have room for all of the above, some facilities only have room for interior storage. Do your items need to be in a climate-controlled setting? Often books, antiques, artwork and furs need additional care. Visit the storage company in advance to be sure the space you are getting will suit your needs and read their customer reviews.
Wood furniture can warp, crack, break or split when exposed to extreme changes in temperature and humidity (we’re talking to you summertime). Repairs can be difficult. Electronics also don’t do well in extreme humidity or coldness. Metal can contract and ruin internal circuit boards.
T-N-T Moving Systems can arrange for you to tour our warehouse so you’ll know first-hand where your items will be secured. We know that everyone’s belongings have meaning-practical or otherwise, and knowing they will be there when you’re ready is important to us.
Contracts: Do you need a short- or long-term contract? What happens if you need to vacate the space before your contract ends? What happens if you default? It’s good to know the type of insurance do you need for items in storage, who will have access to your possessions and what hours is the facility open? Most storage units increase the rent substantially after about 6 months if you are going month-to-month. If you know you are storing for a year or more, it’s better to lock in your rate.
Is it worth storing? Does it make sense to spend $200 a month to store your vintage waterbed and classic 70s vinyl loveseat? Maybe not. Consider the value of the items vs. the cost of keeping them. Perhaps someone else would enjoy your treasures. Is it time for craigslist?
Location, location, location! If you are storing items across town to save a few bucks, does that make sense if you need access to those items on a regular basis. Like your choice in your new home location, where you store your extra items, cars, boats, etc. makes a difference. www.google.com/maps
