Cuisine. Charlotte has an eclectic array of foods. From Vietnamese to American pub, you can find it all. And the highly popular locavore movement is not lost on Charlotte either. Eating localized, farm-to-table meals is important to us, and we do it quite well. Restaurants like Kindred and Block & Grinder are two of the growing number of farm-fresh restaurants popping up all over the city.
Music. Charlotte has always had some sort of a music scene, but not until the past five to ten years has it really exploded. With smaller venues such as The Neighborhood Theater and the Visulite, local bands have been able to create a solid fan-base before moving on to larger tours. If smaller, Indie bands are not really your thing though, Charlotte still has you covered. Check out the Time Warner Cable Arena or the NC Music Factory to find when your favorite band is coming.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center. If you would rather be outdoors, this is the city for you. And at the Whitewater Center, you can do it all. Biking, hiking, rafting, zip lining…Really, they have it all. And, to top it off, the Whitewater Center hosts great music and has restaurants with excellent food.
The Carolina Panthers. Even though we lost in the Super Bowl last year, we will always be united by our home team. It just doesn’t get any better than sitting in Panther stadium with a hot dog in one hand and a foam finger on the other. Whether or not you are a football fan, it’s difficult not to fall in love with our Carolina Panthers.
The Neighborhoods. Charlotte is full of beautiful neighborhoods. Some old, others just being built, you are guaranteed to find the perfect place to live. And every one has its own special amenities to make it unique. Chantilly and Elizabeth areas are filled with historic landmarks, as well as unique restaurants, and handout spots. Ballentyne is constructed of newer buildings with great shopping and spas. And these are only a few of the many great neighborhoods that make up Charlotte.
